There is a lot of minimarket and supermarket in my city, and all of them area a kind of what modern market is, a place when we can easily take what we want and what we need, an indoor building with lots of mirror and CCTV, a big and small basket to bring our stuff and of course some employees in the cashier table. The number of this modern market is surely increase. Well I think there are some reasons why this modern market are becoming more and more in every years.
First, our society has change, we become very busy people who does not even have time to shopping in a traditional market, and modern market have its advantages by the fast shopping system, the groceries are already placed in each section and shopper can easily take it and waiting at the cashier to pay. It helps a lot, more effective than shopping for groceries in a shop when we should tell the owner what we need and sometimes it will take long time. So I think the first reason is the easy and fast system of the modern market.
Second, for some people in Indonesia, they think that buy something in a department store or a high building are more prestigious than shopping in the street or traditional market, that is why all the malls in Indonesia, especially Bandung are always full, and the developers really know about their market, the Indonesians who will come and shop in the mall no matter how expensive it is, so they build lots of modern market because they are sure that the consumers will always grow. We are talking about business.
I want to give my view about its impact to the traditional market, as I know even that the modern markets are built everywhere, traditional market will always be exist, it is because they have different type of what they sell and different kind of consumers. The traditional are always full in the morning because they sell fresh vegetables, fruits, meat and fish, something that modern market cannot do, but you will easily sell some clothes and accessory in a modern market, because they are usually go find for it in a modern market. So I don not think it will have the impact to traditional market, the only worried I have about the increasing number of mall are the lack of green and opened space for us who lived in the city.
The conclusion of this topics are we can easily find a lot of modern market such as department store, malls, supermarkets and minimarkets because it is build more and more in every year, and there is two big reasons why, first is the fast and easy system of the modern market which is really fitted to the condition of the modern society. Second is because developers are love to build more and more because the costumers of modern markets will never die, and I don't think that the increasing numbers of modern market will impact the traditional because its have different kind of things sold there and different type of buyers.

yeah yeah, I'm late for this task. I actually don't know anything about both modern and traditional market, I rarely go shopping, and the last time I went to traditional market was some month ago in Ramadhan when I lived with my friends and we need to buy some fresh veggies and fish from the market, and we did it only one or maybe twice, because after that, we were too lazy to prepare the menu, we just bought it from the food stall. I do often went to the modern market (read : malls) only because of its cinemas and bookstore.
