Oo, Is this something related to the feminism things ?

Task for today : University should accept equal numbers of male and female students in every subject. To what extend do you agree or disagree.

I highly disagree with this things. It is not because I'm not at feminism side or something like that. I am a female student, so I know what and how college life is. The fact is there is some reasons why I disagree with this the equal numbers of male and female students in every subject.

 

First, University offers a lot of subject and major and it is all depend on student to take the subject. I am majoring early childhood education which is only attracted female student to take that major, the same thing I saw in sport education, It is dominated by male student. I don't think this is because sport is something related to man and teaching children is related to women, it is not about this. The real fact is it is the student who choose what are they going to learn, and even if there is a mandatory of equal numbers of male and female, some departments will just difficultly finds the students.

 

The next reason why do I disagree is because each subjects in college has its own requirements to accept students, let us see in some subject who might be have an equal attendance like law, economics and politics. Maybe the applicant was equal but what if the requirements only fit to most male, or most female of the applicants ? The University has already give the requirements and of course they want only best student to enter the college. It will be affected in so many things, reputation and accreditation are just some examples.

 

The last reason is because I believe that to show female power in this world is should not by the equalization of every field, this is an issue I first ever heard but I know that our house of representative has already use female percentage to sit as a senator, but this kind of things is just made woman looked have no power and competition to be as good as man after all, so I think that the best way is to just let it go as what it should be, when a female is good enough to be in a college or a representative, she just will be that one. The equalization is a kind of discredit for woman.

 

To sum up my opinion, I disagree with the equalization of male and female students in university, it is because three things, first because every student, both male and female have their own choice of the subject, second is because every subject have some requirement and to make our education is good or better is to choose only best applicant and that can be more male or female students. Last is because equalization is a kind of discredit for woman power.

note : this is our first serious topic. I choose this from IELTS preparation blog, I posted it so late at night because I actually don't know what to write at first. But I will never know until I start writing right ? ***by the way I got a very pleasurable answer from La Trobe University who told they really won't see about my last academic background, I mean they won't be bothered with my past department accreditation. So it will be me the next who will fight with the IELTS score !! I still wait for the answer from Macquarie, hope I read another pleasurable answer next.
