early literacy

Today I am not going to talk about something trashy just like yesterday. Just like what I said before, I want someone who eventually reading this blog get something new, or maybe my post can inspire them.

I want to talk about the literacy in early education.
Literacy is still a small issued that not everyone cared in Indonesia, Me myself really do care about literacy since I read about it in Satria Dharma's blog, I think he is one of a few Literacy fighter and Hero in Indonesia.
Talking about literacy is not far from reading. and in early childhood education, literacy become a big problem since children can not read at their age, nowadays, some preschool or education institution for children have a service to teach children how to read earlier, but even they are ready to read, they are not understand about what are they read about. Well I think they are not ready yet.
I think the only way to make children love the book and love to read is depends on the teacher. as a teacher, we can start reading them a story from a book they'd love. Teacher can read a different book everyday in front of the class and ask children to retell the story, asking them what can they learn from the story. Beside still teach them how to read frequently.
Bringing literacy awareness to early education is not easy, it is need teacher creativity to not make the children getting bored. Telling a story from a book is only one example, there are maybe hundreds activity I never tried or even know.
I am not a bookworm girl who read anywhere at anytime. But I do love reading, especially reading novels, biography and of course, comics. and I agree with what Mr. Satria Dharma ever said in his post, we ever have a generation with a very big awareness of Literacy, our founding father Bung Hatta, became a bookworm when he had a task to read some literature book, then he was more interested in economic and then he became a great economist, in other place, same old years young soekarno also addicted in reading and fulfill all of his place with books, he was more interested in social politics issues, then he became first president of Indonesia.
I just learn something from this story, maybe not everyone great really love reading, but people who love reading, can be someone great, and even he cannot become as famous as Hatta and Soekarno, I think he will still be best in what they do. Because Reading can give us lot of things.
And that is why we need to introduce the importance of important and literacy earlier.

ps : actually I'm trying to make an English essay, It's my first and I know it's far from perfect, by the way it will be my pleasure If someone leaving a comment to maybe just checking my grammar or want to share about some experience in literacy.

xx
